A man of unimaginable wealth (known as R.B Villard to his father), Renard Brahms Villard made his money from dominating the global telecommunications industry.
Using these funds, he alone paid for the construction and research of Limetown. He was aware of the true purpose of the town from the very beginning, and hand-picked the head of the research team, Oscar Totem. Villard considered the research conducted there to one day be "...assigned its rightful place in the annals of history."
After the Panic (as the mass disappearance is sometimes called) he was put on Congressional trial for his involvement in the vanishing, but ultimately acquitted and went into hiding. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
